The prickle at the back of your neck. The whisper that says “go for it” despite your pounding heart. The pain in your belly when you’re about to make a bad decision. A dream that comes the night before you make a big life change. Words that keep appearing in a book, on your social media feed, the songs you listen to on Spotify.
As women, we’re supposed to be more gifted in the area of intuition. But how many of us are really listening to it? How are we honoring it?
Our intuition is our partner because, unlike fear, it leads us to a more expansive state, a place of possibility. Even when you hear “no,” it’s offering the option of a better situation rather than the one you thought you wanted.
I’ve been bull-headed in the past and ignored my intuition. It never turns out to be a good idea. It led me to heartbreak and pain and lessons learned the hard way.
Here are some ways to listen to your intuition this month:
- Listen to your body. Your body is sometimes your wisest teacher. Notice what it’s feeling in a certain situation and see if it’s alerting you to something. For example, during certain client sessions, I can feel my head start to hurt. That’s when I know I’m thinking too much. I take a deep breath and try to ask questions that are more heart-centered.
- Write. Ask your question at the top of the page and then just scribble what comes up. It helps if you do this first thing in the morning so your thoughts are still clear and uncluttered.
- Don’t force it. Be open and curious. Allow yourself to be soft yet alert to little messages you might have missed. Be present for your life. Leave space for possibility and don’t fill every nook and cranny of your time with activity.
- Attend our workshop. Chinggay Labrador of Practical Magic and I are doing a workshop on tapping into your intuition using the tools of tarot and journaling. If you’re interested in deepening your relationship with your intuition, we would love to have you there. Details and registration here. Super limited slots.
