During the Best Year Ever workshop, we set our intention for the year instead of making resolutions.
What’s the difference?
A resolution is a set of goals, a to-do list of things we want to accomplish for the year.
An intention goes deeper than that. It looks at who you want to become, the year you want to have and why. It’s a guiding statement to help you make meaningful choices and take mindful action.
My intention for 2020: This is my year of JOYFUL TRUST.
It’s a year of leaning into faith and the idea that everything that unfolds is for my greatest good.
It is trusting the statement that “the present moment is perfect as it is.”
It’s about believing in myself, in what I’ve learned and what I have to offer.
It’s about taking action from a place of joy rather than obligation and fear and trying (sometimes with great difficulty as I am a lapsed overachiever) to release my attachment to its success.
I’ve been a control freak most of my life with plans A to Z in place. I’m curious what letting go of control looks like and trusting that the Divine Plan is wiser than I will ever be.
How about you? What’s your intention for 2020?
