A mid-year check-in: 5 questions to ask

three mindful questions

Half the year has passed and it’s time for a mid-year check-in (one of my favorite habits).

I usually pull out my intention for the year and do a review of the actions I’ve made to to make it a reality. I also ask myself how I’m better than I was last year and what I can do better. I then make a re-commitment to my intention and determine new actions for the rest of the year.

But 2020 has been so weird (to put it mildly). In terms of my usual metrics, I know that I’m behind last year. So I decided to shake up my mid-year check-in routine by asking the following questions:

RESET. What parts of your life needed a reset?

REDISCOVER. What did you rediscover about your self and your life during the quarantine?

REMIND. What lessons from the last six months did you learn? What important lesson do you want to take with you?

REPAIR. What parts of your life need compassion and healing?

RESPONSIBILITY. Are you ready to embrace the idea that you are responsible for all the choices that brought you here today? What new choices can you make to create the future you want?

My hope is that these five questions can help you process the changes that you’ve gone through in the last few months, take what’s essential and leave the rest behind.
