December joy: Live with intention

live with intention

Christmas isn’t a season.  It’s a feeling.
>Edna Ferber

There is a moment during the season when you become keenly aware that it’s Christmas.  The nip in the air while walking to Simbang Gabi.  Topping off the tree with a star.  The crack of castañas shells. The swelling of voices of the choir during midnight mass.  The prayer before Noche Buena. The ripping of wrappers and the excited cries of “thank you.” Gazing reverently at a belen.  The gathering of friends from far away who come home just for this time.

That moment makes up for all the stress and overwhelm that you’ve come to expect from the season.  There is always one more gift to buy, an unexpected get-together, an extra hour in traffic, a relative you’ve forgotten, the long lines at the supermarket.

I’m inviting you to make time for more moments of joy, peace, calm and holiness this month.

Every five days (beginning December 5), subscribers to Your Joyful Little Note will receive a beautiful message from an amazing woman who will remind you to breathe and remember what’s important and true about this season.  At the end of their message, I will be sending a journal prompt, so you can take a few minutes to slow down and live with intention during this season.

The women who will be sending you these beautiful messages (I’m calling the entire series December Joy) are:
