From employee to entrepreneur: my little trick to starting the week right

As a new entrepreneur, you will usually find yourself overwhelmed by a seemingly never-ending to-do list. You’re now messenger, marketing manager, admin officer and CEO. The hardest thing is knowing what to prioritize. You sometimes wish you had a boss to tell you what to do to keep the business moving forward.

So here’s a radical thought. What if you put on your employee hat and have a meeting with your boss (who is you but more specifically, your inner wise self)?

Here’s how it works.  On Monday morning, don’t jump straight into work and the to-dos that didn’t get done.  Instead sit down with your planner or journal and ask your inner wise voice to help you set your priorities for the week.  You can start by setting an intention.  (So far, my intentions have been “launch Your Heart-Crafted Life” or “reach out.”  Last week’s intention was “pour your heart and soul into your work as you did to your job.” I also pull out a card from my Dreamscapes tarot app to guide my work.)  From there, you can make a list of three or four priorities.  These priorities will dictate the actions you need to take. Undone to-dos that aren’t part of the priority list get moved to a Post-it to be handled another time.

Listening to my boss, to my inner wisdom, at the start of the week has made a difference in my time management and efficiency.  It also prevents me from running around without focus for the rest of the week.

Are you a solo-preneur?  What are your tricks or hacks to make solo entrepreneurship easier or more manageable?
