Usually this is the first thing we do. In fact, in the book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, the only one I remember is Sharpen the Saw. And that’s the one I tried for many years without realizing that it’s a combination of all these habits that make up your whole life. So filing up your well is an important starting point because they make your life feel more joyful but you shouldn’t forget the other habits as well.
Here are some ideas for filling up your well:
- Have a daily gratitude practice
- Connect with the divine through daily prayer or meditation
- Make time to do things you love with the people you love
- Celebrate your wins, even the smallest ones
