If you’re looking for a book to savor, to be enjoyed on a slow Sunday afternoon, with a cup of tea, then I recommend Chasing Slow by Erin Loechner. You might know Erin from her blog, Design for Mankind.
Part vulnerable memoir, part blog (with its tip-sy sidebars, well-lit photos and resources on slowing your life and decluttering) and part workbook (a bit of a stretch since you don’t want to mar the beauty of the book with not-so pretty handwriting), Chasing Slow talks about Erin’s circuitous path to discovering what matters. A former accumulator of stuff, she is now a collector of moments, of details so small only a photographer or writer will notice. She then finds a way to spin these moments into wisdom, beautiful in its simplicity, in its vulnerability and in the knowing that she, like all of us, is a work in progress.
