During one coaching session, I prompted a client to put her hands on her heart and listen to what it wanted to say. After a few moments of silence, she answered. The words were hesitant, her voice slow, as if she wasn’t sure that she was speaking her heart’s true voice.
To take the practice further, I asked her to write in her journal during her quiet time: What would love do? And then to listen for the answers.
In her next session, she told me that she struggled for a few days to write as if her heart was speaking to her.
But one night, as she sat with her journal, she decided to write a love letter to her heart. She invited her heart to speak up, to open up about what she truly wanted, to tell her what she needed to know. She offered a supportive and loving space for her heart.
After she wrote that, she listened quietly for a few minutes and then her heart’s wisdom flowed. Her heart thanked her for the space she was offering and her time to listen to it. Her heart gave her advice that rang true. My client listened as her heart comforted her, calmed her anxiety and laid out a simple path that she could follow.
It was a beautiful practice, a practice that was led by her heart, by not forcing herself for answers, by allowing organic wisdom to shine through.
When you open your heart to possibility, you will find wisdom in unconventional places. When you start following that, you find your heart opening even more, allowing more magic, more guidance, more possibility.
