The truth about me and tarot and how that led to Inkling

InklingI remember the first time I held a set of tarot cards in my hands. My heart was pounding. I felt like I was betraying my strict Catholic school girl upbringing by even asking to have my fortune told.

But tarot was something that had always fascinated me—the beautiful art, the meanings, the stories, the different spreads. When I discovered that tarot can be a tool for tapping my intuition, that it was not a doorway to evil, that it didn’t have to be about telling your fortune, then that’s when it made better sense for me.

I bought my own set of tarot cards and books to help me understand each card better. I did a 30-day challenge where I pulled a card a day and used it to guide my intention. The challenge was also helpful in getting to know the cards better instead of relying on the book for meanings.

The way I use tarot today is to pull two cards —one from my Shadowscapes deck and an oracle card from my Wisdom of the Oracle deck—at the beginning of every month. This practice usually makes me think about my intention, what I want to accomplish and my inner state. Sometimes the cards I pick are aligned with how I feel but sometimes they’re a big question mark. When that happens, I keep an open mind and see if there’s something I should know or explore about myself based on my reaction to the cards.

Because of this fascination, I thought about doing a retreat that will combine tarot, writing and life coaching.

All of these are tools to help you get to know yourself better, to understand your deepest desires (NOT the ones that Instagram or your friends or family say you should have) and to take action according to the whispers of your intuition. I like the retreat format because it allows you to get away from your daily concerns, from your everyday lives. You will also find willing and caring teachers and like-minded women who will lovingly support you in exploring your intuition.

If all of this is fascinating for you as well, it would be wonderful if you can join me and the lovely Chinggay Labrador for Inkling, our all-women intuitive retreat, that’s happening in early 2018. We’re announcing it this early so you can take advantage of the early bird rate and an easy-to-pay installment plan. You can check out the details here.
