How to transform intentions into actions

intention into action

This is my year of meaningful expansion, of saying yes to opportunities that go beyond my home and home office.

I want this intention to live beyond the words I wrote one December afternoon. I don’t want it pushed aside and forgotten once the workbook is closed. The way to do this is to transform this intention into action.

How do you that?

1.Visualize what December 31, 2019 would be like if you had actually lived your intention for the year. What would you have experienced? What would you have accomplished? What would you have learned?

2. From this visualization, write down a list of three to four goals. Set a deadline for each. Check if these are aligned with your intention. See if you can transform them into “gift goals.”

3. Break your year into quarters. What’s one action can you take per quarter to move forward on these goals? Brainstorm and see if you can further break these down into monthly activities.

4. Write them down in your calendar/planner/bullet journal and make them a priority, the same way your boss’s requests are. At this point, keep your eyes off your goals and take action instead.

5. Do a quarterly review and see if these goals are still relevant. Remember you can change your mind as circumstances shift. You can adjust, course-correct and start over and over as the year unfolds.
