Tiny tweaks to make your life a tiny bit better

Here are eight tiny tweaks you can make in your life this month to make it easier, better, lighter:

1. The life-changing magic of gratitude comes not from making the list of five things you appreciate. Rather, it’s about FEELING grateful after noticing and acknowledging all the good that’s already in your life.

2. Make a tiny change in your environment. Reorganize your desk, creative space, bedside table, bookshelves. Feel stale energy exit with the dust and unnecessary clutter. Feel fresh energy enter your life.

3. Take scheduled breaks, or, as my client very cleverly called it, strategic rest. Pause for deep breaths, laughter, water, naps.

4. Give your money away. Make a generous donation to a cause that inspires you, to your spiritual organization or even an artist or creative person whose work brings you joy. Allow yourself to be free from the limiting beliefs of scarcity. You have more than enough.

5. Be kind to yourself. Tell yourself “it’s okay” when you don’t meet your own expectations. Laugh at your mistakes and know that these things really won’t matter in the long run.

6. Water yourself—drink lots of it or soak in it, in a shower, bath or ocean. Water heals.

7. Make a list of activities that make you feel happy, energized and alive. Do you love meeting up with your best friend? Or visiting a book store? Or napping? How about making something with your hands or trying out a new recipe? Do more of that.

8. Challenge yourself. Make a commitment to showing up consistently for something that will transform your life for the better. Try meditation or a social media detox or even a spiritual practice for 30 days and notice the benefits you experience after.

One challenge you might want to try is my annual 31-Day Journaling Challenge. It comes in a mini course format and it is completely FREE. Each prompt will appear every morning in the course page at 8 a.m. Philippine time. You have access to the mini course until September 15, 2023.
