Use your journal to empower yourself

morning pagesHow many times have you told yourself, “I’m not smart enough,” “I’m not powerful enough, “simple lang ako,” “I’m fat,” “I have a big nose,” “I don’t deserve love”?

I want to know: How are these thoughts serving you?

You know how powerful the mind is. You want to start embracing empowering messages. You know and believe that your reality reflects your thoughts. And you want to start changing your beliefs about yourself to bring about the changes you want in your life.

Here are five steps to shift your negative thinking:

1. In your journal, write a list of the thoughts you have about yourself.

2. Check if these thoughts are true.

3. If they are, ask yourself two things:

  • Can you do something about this?
  • Can you shift this to a positive thought?

4. Believe these new thoughts. Believe that you are powerful, then you will emanate power. Believe that that you are worthy, then you will receive the value you deserve. Believe that you are amazing and you will be.

5. Write down these positive thoughts somewhere you can see them regularly. If you find yourself going back to your old habits, look at this new list and be reminded of your new ways of thinking.
